Visitors to Putney Exchange may have noticed some new artwork appearing in the windows of Waterstones Putney, created by local illustrator Gizem Gözde Uçar ahead of a special family event this August.
The hand-drawn illustrations have transformed the store’s cafe windows, bringing colour and creativity to the centre while showcasing Gizem’s distinctive style and characters.
Gizem is the illustrator of The Courage Club series, a collection of children’s books designed to help young readers understand their emotions, build confidence and embrace new experiences.
The artwork has been created ahead of her drawing hour at Waterstones Putney on Sunday 16th August, where she will lead a fun and interactive drawing session for children aged 4–7. The event offers young artists the chance to meet a published illustrator and take part in a range of guided creative activities.
